Everything on ShipRev Cloud belongs to an organization, and an organization needs a plan before it can hold an application. This page takes you from no account to an organization with a plan.
Create your account
Open the developer console and create an account with an email address and a password, or with Google or GitHub.
- With an email address and a password, the form stops on a page that asks for the 6-digit code emailed to that address. You are signed in once you enter it.
- A Google or GitHub account whose email the provider reports as verified needs no code.
Creating an account creates your first organization: the workspace your applications and your plan belong to. Each organization has its own applications and its own plan.
Organizations come from two places only
You cannot create an organization from the console. You get one when you create an account, and you join one when you accept an invitation sent by its owner or admin. If you create your account from an invitation email, you join the inviting organization, no organization of your own is created, and no code is asked for: the invitation email already proves the address.
Once you belong to more than one organization, an organization switcher appears in the top bar and you move between them there.
Answer the short questionnaire
The first owner or admin of a new organization lands on a one-page questionnaire. Two questions are required: what you are building and how many applications you plan to run. Your role and how you heard about us are optional. The answers only pick the plan the console suggests on the next page; they do not change anything in your account, and you choose the plan yourself.
Choose a plan
The questionnaire leads to Pricing, where the plans are shown side by side with what each one includes: how many applications, how many usage events a month, and what happens when the events are used up. You can also open Pricing from the side navigation at any time.
- The Free plan needs no bank card and is started with one click. It includes a capped number of applications and monthly usage events, shown on Pricing, with no overage. One account can hold one Free plan at a time, across all of its organizations; if another organization of yours already uses it, the button says which one, and this organization needs a paid plan instead.
- A paid plan is paid monthly through Stripe Checkout and renews each month until you cancel it from Billing. The plan changes once the payment completes; if you leave Checkout, nothing changes. While a payment is being confirmed, Pricing shows "Confirming your payment" and refreshes on its own.
- Upgrading and downgrading later happen on the same page. The console shows what you will be charged before you confirm.
Prices and inclusions are shown in the console and are not repeated here.
Without a plan you can look around, but not create
An organization without a plan can use every page of the console, invite members and change settings. Only creating an application is held back: the button opens a dialog that asks you to choose a plan first.
Billing
Billing shows the organization's current plan, next charge, payment method and invoices, and opens the Stripe billing portal for changing the card or downloading invoices. The billing details come from the organization's business profile under Settings; fill in the legal name, country and tax ID there if your invoices need them.
Invite your team
Settings opens from the account menu at the bottom of the side navigation (your email address, then Settings) and has an Organization part (General, Members, Business profile) and an Account part. Under Members, an owner or admin invites people by email and sets their role. Owners and admins can change the organization, its plan and its applications; members and viewers can see them. Invited people create their account from the invitation email and land in your organization.
