Products, capabilities and tiers
Define your products, their capabilities and the tiers you sell. A capability is one of four kinds: permission, capacity, allowance or metered.
Published versions
Publishing a catalog creates a version. Published versions are read-only.
Add-ons
Offer add-on packs on top of a tier.
Overage policy
Each capability carries one of three overage policies: allow and bill, block, or prompt an upgrade.
Decisions on the request path
From your backend, the Server SDK asks whether an organization may do something and gets the decision with the remaining balance, marked as live or degraded.
How it connects
One customer, four views
- IdentityCapabilities are held by a buyer organization, through its subscription. A check resolves the caller's organization first.
- SubscriptionsThe tier version a subscription points to is the one its capabilities come from.
- MeteringA metered capability is decided against the usage recorded on the same customer record.
